Genesis is a feast of possibilities for reflection.
Isn't it interesting that the first result of eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is Adam and Eve discovering that they are naked? Before "their eyes were open" did Adam and Eve know only "good" and not being ashamed of their bodies was "good" (how God created them)? Or were their bodies just their bodies then the shame born from the knowledge of this nakedness after the fruit was eaten causes them to hide before God. So much can be tied up in how we view our own bodies - and so much harm done - it is not only stars who starve themselves or submit to the knife or feel the need to flaunt themselves for attention. Is shame the only tool at our disposal to teach good habits about our bodies?
