It's the little things that are so big

In Mark 1:41, Jesus reaches out and touches the leper. My NIV study Bible says this action goes counter to Mosaic law and is therefore an illustration of the compassion of Jesus. In terms of practical application, at my work there is the division between people who "get it" and people who "don't get it." Above my desk I keep a sign, "In God we trust, all others bring data." As I must let the data speak, this often carries me between camps, invariably incurring the wrath of the other. But I always say, "it's not personal, this is what the data says." But to people, it is too often personal. Scripture like Mark 1:41 helps keep me on point and is kind of neat example of the Word of Scripture doing the Work of Science.
