SUNDAY'S "BREAD AND BIBLE STUDY" WEEK THREE

BREAD AND TEMPTATION
(
1) In groups of three, review the three temptation stories from Matthew 4, Mark 1,
and Luke 4.
(A) In each case, what precedes the temptation story? What immediately follows it?
Do you think the order of these events is important? If so, why?

(B) How are the three temptation stories, themselves, the same? Different?

(C) As you read these stories, what do you find surprises you most?

(2) Read James 1:2-4; 12-16
(A) What does James add to our conversation about temptation?

(B) Do you find yourself agreeing with James or disagreeing?

(C) If you are willing, share a story of when you were tempted about something. What helped you or hindered you in your “time of trial” ?
